Seperti yang dikatakan oleh MKBHD, bahwa sekarang smartphone murah menjadi jauh lebih baik, dan smartphone unggulan menjadi semakin murah. 5 smartphone terbaik pada 2016 menurut Getective adalah sebagai berikut:
1. OnePlus 3/3T
OnePlus pada tahun ini mengeluarkan 2 smartphone flagship, yaitu OnePlus 3 dan OnePlus 3T. Walaupun perbedaan keduanya hanya berada pada dapur pacu, OnePlus benar-benar mengeluarkan smartphone yang luar biasa pada tahun ini. Dengan Snapdragon 820 (OP3) / Snapdragon 821 (OP3T) dikolaborasikan dengan RAM sebesar 6GB dan bahan yang premium, smartphone ini dengan mudah menjadi smartphone terbaik menurut Getective. Harganya pun tidak semahal seperti smarpthone flagship lainnya yaitu berada pada kisaran 6 – 7jutaan, tidak seperti yang lainnya yang berada pada titik 9 – 10jutaan bahkan lebih. Kamera yang berada pada OnePlus 3/3T ini juga salah satu yang terbaik tahun 2016, dengan 16MP ditambah dengan Optical Image Stabilization dan juga Electronic Image Stabilization, maka tidak heran jika hasil “jepretan” yang diberikan oleh smartphone ini adalah salah satu yang terbaik.

2. Google Pixel / XL
Google tahun ini menghilangkan seri Nexus yang sudah dibesutinya sejak 2010 dan memilih nama Pixel untuk melanjutkan kejayaan Nexus. Namun, pendekatan yang dilakukan oleh Google berbeda dengan tahun-tahun sebelumnya. Mereka tahun ini memilih harga yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan pada seri Nexus. Sehingga pemilihan dapur pacunya pun juga yang terbaik dan memiliki kamera yang dinilai oleh DxOMark adalah yang terbaik pada tahun 2016. Fitur HDR+ yang selalu aktif setiap kali kita mengambil foto sangat berguna karena menghasilkan hasil foto yang sangat detil. Untuk performa, tidak usah diragukan lagi karena Google telah merangkainya dengan sangat baik dan akan memiliki performa yang berada pada tingkat atas, jika tidak bahkan teratas.

3. LG V20
LG menghadirkan penerus seri V yang dimulainya pada tahun sebelumnya, yaitu LG V20. LG tidak mengikuti trend smartphone jaman sekarang yang lebih mempercantik desain dan lebih ke meningkatkan kualitas dengan V20. Penerus V10 ini menghadirkan kualitas bodi smartphone yang sama yaitu sertifikasi standar MIL-STD-810G, yaitu dapat menahan benturan jatuh 26 kali dengan ketinggian 121,92cm. LG V20 juga memberikan kita pengalaman versi Android terbaru yaitu Nougat pertama kali, bahkan mendahului seri Nexus/Pixel milik Google. Tidak dapat disembunyikan bahwa LG V20 memiliki fitur manual pada video kamera yang jauh menungguli smartphone lainnya dan juga layar kedua beresolusi 160 x 1040 yang memiliki fitur yang mirip seperti Edge pada Samsung Galaxy S6/7, namun dengan beberapa menu tambahan.

4. IPhone 7/Plus
Para pencinta iPhone patut berbangga karena Apple tahun ini menghadirkan lagi seri iPhone yang memiliki performa yang tidak kunjung lag. IPhone 7 juga memiliki skor benchmark tertinggi di kalangan smartphone, terlihat dari kinerjanya yang dinilai sangat cepat. Kamera pada iPhone 7 Plus juga memiliki Optical Zoom sehingga dapat menghadirkan hasil foto yang lebih detil lagi. Namun, mungkin beberapa pengguna antusias headphone jack akan sedikit sedih karena Apple memutuskan untuk menghilangkan 3,5mm audio jack. Tapi, hal itu tidak mengurangi performa dan desain iPhone 7/Plus yang dinilai sangat baik.
